Abuse of A Woman, Why?

Just read about the story of this lady, Titilayo(in photo with husband), a staff of Skye bank plc who was killed by her husband, Kolade Arowolo after being married for 2yrs.

I just wondered what went wrong that could turn him into a monster that stabbed a woman he toasted, probably claims he loves, makes love to and sleeps with, the mother of is daughter(in photo below).

This is so Sad, I wish she had gotten out of the abusive relationship a long time ago because am sure the abuse started even before they got married.

The 1st autopsy I saw as a medical student was of a lady who was strangled by her husband, I will never forget looking down on her on that slab, she just set her hair and had her toenail painted and she was in her twenties. I have never forgotten and will never forget as it made an impression on me,it was not a pretty sight.

If you are in an ABUSIVE relationship, GET OUT NOW, this might be you we will talk about next.

Rest in Peace Titi

Rain,Rain

The rains have come to Lagos big time.

This past week has seen downpours and thunderstorms of great proportions and along with it the floods and traffic holdups.
As much as I love the rains......cosy weather especially when you don't have to go out and can curl in bed with a good book, my heart goes out to those affected by the floods.

We need to learn about not putting our trash in the drain as is the norm in some areas, the natural drainage channels are actually filled with trash and people build and live here..check out Ogudu and Oworo areas in Lagos. As more people flood into Lagos, more and more of the canals and marshes are blocked because of the need for more accommodation and the situations keeps getting worse.

The government is trying their bit but we as residents of this great city need to do more by

1.Keep the drains free by not dumping your refuse.

2.Pay your refuse bill so that the PSP collector can pick it up and don't use the kole-kole who in turn drop your refuse in the drains.

3. Don't build on the canals and drainage channels.

4. Try not to rent houses built on canals....Trust me, it is not worth it.

PROTEST AT MTN HEADOFFICE

Driving down Alfred Rewane road, Ikoyi yesterday morning, I saw these group of people in front of the MTN head office protesting and it got me wondering.
Apparently, they are owing this company,PNN about N900 million for work done and MTN have refused to pay despite being ordered by the Court of Arbitration to pay. This company can't pay their staff and creditors, so, resorted to this protest.

Why do big organizations do things, you get a contract and agree to be paid after delivery and for some reasons best known to them they refuse to pay up not caring about the time, effort and resources spent and in some cases,(such as this) disobey court orders.

Usually, such organizations make huge profits which are remitted abroad as they are not on our stock exchange.
I think our government should do something about this as MTN should not be about providing jobs for a few Nigerian but also about reinvesting in our economy by supporting SMEs and not KILLING them.
