Back To Reality

We got back yesterday after a hectic one week at the HOPE youth corp summer camp for preteens and teens. My older son and niece attended for the 1st time and we all had a great time.

We had about 250 children and about 50 counselor and facilitators. Each counselor had about 10 kids who they took care of and we were also divided into 5 Houses depending on the color of t-shirt you are given.
I was the camp doctor and also doubled as a counselor because we were short of volunteers, it was challenging doing double duty but fun as well.

And yours truly got the award for the "The Most Outstanding Female Counselor"
I had the most amazing girls - beautiful inside and out, ranging from 10-15yrs and was a Mother of girls for a week. We got up as early as 5am for devos and morning exercise, classes.mealtimes and watched movies together and had a bonfire nite last date of camp.

Thanking HOPE WORLDWIDE Nigeria

for the priviledge of serving.

Tell me more about this HOPE WORLDWIDE summer camp. I'll really love to know more about the event.

Congrats on your award at the event. How are we going to celebrate it?

@ Strong self, the summer camp is for preteens and teens and organized by HWWN an NGO and my church and camp is usually in summer. Kids pay a stipend to come and we find sponsorship to cover cost.Counselors and facilitators are volunteers and do not get paid.

@ Myne thanks and maybe one day you ccan come teach kids in camp abt writing

Sounds like you had a good time. I like it when children are properly occupied. I am sure they will remember this for a long time.
