PROTEST AT MTN HEADOFFICE

Driving down Alfred Rewane road, Ikoyi yesterday morning, I saw these group of people in front of the MTN head office protesting and it got me wondering.
Apparently, they are owing this company,PNN about N900 million for work done and MTN have refused to pay despite being ordered by the Court of Arbitration to pay. This company can't pay their staff and creditors, so, resorted to this protest.

Why do big organizations do things, you get a contract and agree to be paid after delivery and for some reasons best known to them they refuse to pay up not caring about the time, effort and resources spent and in some cases,(such as this) disobey court orders.

Usually, such organizations make huge profits which are remitted abroad as they are not on our stock exchange.
I think our government should do something about this as MTN should not be about providing jobs for a few Nigerian but also about reinvesting in our economy by supporting SMEs and not KILLING them.

This is indeed shameful
However, I do wonder whether some government officials are not personally benefiting from MTN in some way?

Isnt there something the judiciary can do when injunctions are flouted?
I feel for these guys, alot of them do not earn salaries commensurate to their skills, delaying the meagre things they are paid is adding insult to injury!

I totally agree with you that govt. need to do something.

MTN should be prosecuted for disobeying court injunction.

This is case of 'monkey dey work baboon dey chop'.
